World Chronicles

Having been here for some time now, I can say with certainty that this web page project is one of the more exciting things to happen in my life as of late! :)

World history is an exciting subject, yet it yields often times boredom for the average student. Why should we learn about dead people? What does it matter Romans called their eggs ova? Who cares about the Magyars? What does habeas corpus mean anyway, and why would it possibly be important to me? Why would such things as the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, or the Declaration of the Rights of Man have anything to do with my life today? Was Napoleon really a short dead dude?

Above are but a few questions my students have posed to me over the past 27 years here at AHS. My challenge has always been to bring students into the world of learning - specifically learning to better read, think and write through the medium of history.

I hope to continue offering AHS students good reasons to study life, the universe, and everything as they find themselves in my classroom!

Thanks, Kevin Rose Set the Way-back Machine do come in
